Aim: Help us transform YO8 youth club into a youth hub; a vibrant, accessible and safe space for the young people of our community.
Get ready for the launch of our YO8 Crowdfunding Campaign, to transform our unused changing rooms at Brayton Community Centre, into a vibrant and safe space for the young people of our community.
We started a drop-in youth club in Summer 2022, to engage local young people aged 9 –17 who were using the adjacent park and field as a hang-out spot. In partnership with the trusted youth activity provider, Flying Futures, we established a free, open access drop-in youth session, named ‘YO8’ by the young people, every Wednesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Nearly two years on and YO8 is engaging more than 60 young people; to be active, learn new skills and chill out. Since establishing the club, we have also seen a dramatic reduction in antisocial behaviour, with kids seeing the community centre as a place for them.
The renovations have already begun, thanks to a small pot of grant funding. However, we need your help to continue the project, by supporting our crowdfunder campaign. Together we can raise essential funding to provide a fit for purpose space for the fantastic children and young people from Brayton, Selby, and the surrounding area.
