Bramhall CC needs to upgrade ground drainage to maximise opportunities to play cricket, our fundraising having been impacted by COVID-19.
Bramhall Cricket Club was founded in 1886 and exists to provide opportunities to play cricket for adults, boys and girls from aged 5 years.
Whatever their capability we want them to play and to enjoy as much cricket as possible.
With only half a season in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions, we still managed to provide competitive senior cricket along with junior cricket at five age groups.
However, Covid-19 has had a significant impact on club funds over the last 15 months as follows:

Following relocation to the ground at Church Lane Woodford in 1997, we have been blessed with excellent cricketing facilities.
However, in the last 5 years alone, we have seen more than 30 senior and many more junior home matches cancelled or abandoned due to wet weather creating unplayable ground conditions. This has caused the following problems:
Action is urgently needed “to get the game on."

Existing drainage is either limited or not fit for purpose. A comprehensive review has been undertaken with drainage consultants and a plan has been drawn up to mitigate the problem. Some modest initial work has been undertaken to help with the 2021 season but the bulk of the work is expected to be completed at the end of this season. As well as meeting the current problem we anticipate that the project will provide some climate change mitigation.
The total project cost has been assessed at £30k and we are seeking to raise a minimum of £20k via Crowdfunding to compete the major part of the project.

With the help of Sport England and our supporters, we hope to raise sufficient funds to enable this project to be completed this year which is more cost effective and beneficial than spreading over several years.
Please give generously to allow this important project to be completed in a timely fashion. If we are unable to complete the project this year, we will lose more matches to the weather in 2022.

Bramhall Cricket Club is well embedded in the community and is actively supportive of local charities such as St Ann's Hospice (via JustHelping) and 1000 Hearts for Harry and with your support, we will continue to provide competitive cricket for players of all ages and abilities and a hub for our local community.
