Aim

The aim of our project is to purchase an Electrowind mat winder to eliminate potential injury whilst lifting heavy indoor bowls mats.

Who are we?

Bramhall Village Indoor Bowling Club is a small local club which was established in 1993 having 2 teams in the local indoor bowling league.  The club has a predominantly elderly membership who enjoy the sport of indoor bowling during the winter months when unable to play outdoor bowls.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are hoping to purchase a piece of equipment to replace our manual system which has become too difficult for our elderly members to manage. There are only a few members who are currently able to put the mats out and roll them up at the end of play.  We are conscious of the risk of injury as the mats are very heavy. The new Electrowind machine would make it easier for almost anyone to set up and put away, and ensure the continuation of the club.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Once we have reached our target the money will be spent to purchase an Electrowind short mat winding machine to assist with setting up, putting away and storage of the mats.

Community impact

Without this equipment the future of the club would be uncertain as it would be increasingly difficult without some form of help with the mats, due to the ages of the members.  The activity provides social contact, friendship, exercise and competitive play in league matches.  For some members this is the only form of exercise and companionship they will get in the week, especially during the winter months

How you can play your part

There are two simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

Funding method

All or nothing – this project will only receive pledges if it reaches its target of £5,890 by 1st September 2026 at 7:44pm
