Bowloop Sponsored Walk 2026

Aim

This sponsored walk on 7th July is aiming to raise funds for our Student Council to use to enhance their experience at Martin High School

The Bowloop Sponsored Walk is a valued and long-standing tradition at Martin High School, uniting students, staff, and the wider community in a shared experience that celebrates both physical wellbeing and school pride. Each year, the whole school comes together for an 8-mile walk, starting from the school site and taking in the beautiful surroundings of Bradgate Park and Swithland Wood before returning. It’s a day filled with fresh air, teamwork, and a real sense of achievement as everyone completes the challenge together.

The money raised through the Bowloop Walk has a significant and lasting impact on our school. Thanks to the continued generosity of participants and sponsors, the Student Council has been able to lead a variety of meaningful, student-driven initiatives. These have included the creation of a bike club to encourage active and sustainable travel, improvements to the memorial garden as a calm and reflective space, upgrades to the school’s toilet facilities, the installation of water bottle filling stations to reduce plastic use, and the introduction of a paper recycling scheme to support our environmental efforts.

We recognise that many families may be experiencing ongoing financial pressures, and we are genuinely grateful for any support you are able to give. Whether through a donation or by helping to raise awareness, your involvement plays an important role in building a strong and supportive school community, while giving our students the opportunity to lead, innovate, and care for their surroundings.
