This project successfully funded on 11th December 2022, you can still support them with a donation.

Aim: Help us bring the world premiere stage adaptation of the film BOUND to the stage - fully authorised by The Wachowskis and their management.

The iconic movie BOUND by the writers/directors The Wachowski Sisters (The Matrix, V for Vendetta, Cloud Atlas, Sense8) is coming to the stage for a 3 week try out production in the UK... and we need your help to make it happen!

In 1996 the movie BOUND, the debut movie by The Wachowskis opened to critical acclaim. Not only is the film a masterpiece, but it was a huge step forward for the queer community and the kind of representation in media that was rarely seen. Two strong, smart, sexual gay women playing in the super hyper masculine world of the mob.

Now, after months of negotiations, the fabulous Lilly and Lana Wachowski and their management team have personally agreed to let us move forward with a stage adaptation of the film for a limited 3 week world premiere try out production in the UK to see how it works.

We have already seen great support from fans of the film which has a cult and critically acclaimed following, and we have been retweeted by original star Jennifer Tilly who has tweeted her support for the production.  Joe Pantoliano another cast member has also expressed his support through his Instagram live.

This production will be filmed and sent to the Wachowskis and the film studio to determine how we can move the project forward from there.

The film is adapted to the stage by award winning playwright/director Craig Hepworth (Noir, Porno Chic, Fake News, Last Dance etc.) and produced by his award winning theatre production company Vertigo Theatre Productions alongside co-owner Karl Burge and a female co-director for this project.

This November will be the first workshop for the stage adaptation with an opening set for October 2023.  We are currently in the process of finalising our cast after some amazing auditions.  These will be announced very soon.

To bring this production to life, we are fundraising to raise £30,000 to help bring this to the stage and this is where we are hoping you lovely people can help by donating OR investing.

What are the benefits of donating?

There will be a number of rewards available based on the amount of donations to get hold of some exclusive BOUND play branded goodies or experiences.

About Vertigo Theatre Productions.

Vertigo Theatre Productions have been producing quality theatre in the UK for over 15 years, with a number of award winning critically acclaimed new works and established plays.  We have a number of UK Premiere productions under our belts and have had interest from West End venues and New York producers.
Up to now Vertigo have been fully self funded, putting profits from one production into the next, however this is a big opportunity for the company to go even further with this production so we need support to help us make this a reality.

If we can prove that this production can be the hit that we believe it can be with both the BOUND property itself and our own proven experience we can get this in front of investors to assure the play can move on after it's initial world premiere limited run.

So lets get fundraising to bring Corky and Violet to the stage, back in the spotlight where these women belong. Please also share with your friends.

Love to you all and thanks in advance,

Craig & Karl.
