Who are we?
Bounceback Food CIC is a community cookery school and foodbank supporter that has been fighting food poverty since 2014. Our cookery workshops and learning programmes improve the health, wellbeing and employability skills of communities in the North-West of England and Wales. We are passionate about delivering innovative projects that deliver social change and work with housing associations, businesses, schools, charities (such as Christians Against Poverty, The Trussell Trust and FareShare) and members of the public to fulfil our mission to fight food poverty. We are a non-profit CIC (Community Interest Company) - you can find out more about our social enterprise at www.bouncebackfood.co.uk.

What are we going to do?
With your support, we'll be able to publish our first recipe book! When complete it’ll contain a selection of our favourite healthy recipes from around the world that we’ve taught people on our community cookery school courses in Manchester and Wales. All the dishes that feature are being hand painted by Manchester based artist Libby Element which is why the book won't be ready until Summer 2019 – but when it's done it will look amazing! We'll keep you in the loop with progress on the book as it comes together, the artwork featured in our campaign is subject to change but we can say for sure that the book will contain recipes from 8 countries!

Who's the artist?
Libby Element is a self-taught artist based in Manchester. She uses acrylic paint to bring her favourite subjects to life and is obsessed with light, shade and texture. Libby has been selling art prints on Etsy since 2014 and you can catch her at various art fairs in the Manchester area.
As a longtime vegetarian, this project is close to Libby's heart as our recipe book features exclusively vegetarian and vegan recipes. Although Libby's work has been published online and in various publications such as The Happy Newspaper, this will be the first book Libby has illustrated.
You can see more of Libby’s work on her Instagram: http://instagram.com/libby.element or her etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/LibbyElement.

What will the money be used for?
We'll use your donations to cover the costs of developing and self-publishing the book. This includes time spent on artistic development, graphic design and recipe development. Once complete as an e-book, we'll then have the additional costs of printing and distributing hardback books.
Any additional funding will help us get a better deal on the first print run of the book and assist with our plans to develop our community cookery school in 2019 and beyond. This includes expanding our team so that we can deliver cookery courses in all 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester (currently we work in 5/10) and investing in the equipment we require to deliver courses.

With your help, we will not only be able to publish our first recipe book, sharing our love of cooking with hundreds more people, but this will also support the development of our community cookery school, which helps people in need to Bounceback. Thank you! #Backthebook
