BookTastic Children's Book Festival

Aim

Bedford's annual children's book festival, bringing the biggest names in literature to families across Bedfordshire and beyond!

BookTastic began in 2014 with a simple mission: to bring exciting, engaging literary events to Bedford. 

Over the years we have developed new and innovative ways to deliver the festival, bringing the biggest names in children's literature online to families throughout the pandemic.

Books are like doors that open onto exciting new worlds. Our aim for 2022 and beyond is to ensure that anyone can access these worlds. We're working to remove barriers - the geographical, financial, and other obstacles that prevent families from joining in the fun. 

This summer we are testing a new digital model that will let us stream our live, in-person events into classrooms and homes everywhere. 

We're finding ways to make BookTastic as engaging and interactive as possible. We want our online audiences get the same experience as those who are there enjoying the live event.

To make this happen, we are working with a local creative production team, who will film, stream and edit the events. We want to create a magical digital experience that opens up access to all.

We are a not-for-profit organisation, and we operate solely through grant funding and donations. Please help us reach more children and families, and bring the magic of reading to everyone!
