Crowdfunding to deliver dual language storybooks to children living in remote desert regions of Morocco, as part of the 4L Trophy 2024
Given the recent devastating earthquake Morocco has suffered, we are preparing to step out of our comfort zones to deliver thousands of free storybooks to children in remote areas - and to draw attention to the needs of young people in this North Africa nation.
We'll do this by entering the 4L Trophy, one of the hardest road trips on offer to young people aged 28 and below.
We're two friends who have been lucky enough to have a good and rounded education, we now feel an urge to give back somehow. We've decided that the best way to do this is to deliver storybooks to rural areas of Morocco.
The books are in dual language format (arabic and english) and each contains a teaching lesson, without any political or religious agendas. We aim to deliver up to 2,000 books to desert regions of Morocco as part of the annual 4L Trophy, a challenge which takes thousands of young people in Renault 4s from France to Marrakech donating school supplies along the way.
We aim to provide both a physical gift in the form of a book, and ongoing virtual learning opportunities to children who would otherwise find it hard to access such resources.
In order to participate in the challenge, we have to completely self-fund. This means that we are looking to raise money to cover the costs of our vehicle, fuel, insurance, medical assistance and more. We can supply a full breakdown of the costs, if you want to see more. We also have dedicated press and sponsor's pack, so anyone considering supporting us through their business, please get in touch.
This event attracts thousands of like-minded young people, each sharing a passion for adventure, and an urge to make a positive, yet noticeable, difference.
Our mission is to hand our cargo over to dedicated NGOs working tirelessly to give these children a chance to improve their lives through education. Growing up with these books around me, and now in my role of co-director at Kashfi's Children, we see time and time again how intelligent learning of this kind promotes: opportunities, tolerance, critical thinking and problem-solving.
