Book Bus is a UK charity which takes books into rural Zambia, Malawi and Ecuador, and shares them with children who otherwise wouldn't have access to books. I'm going to the Luangwa Valley in Zamiba in August with them, and will be taking books and art materials with me to use while I'm there. If you'd like to donate funds to buy books or materials for creative sessions, then this is the place to do it! The only major employer in the Luangwa Valley, apart from the Safari camps, is Tribal Textiles, which produces hand-decorated textiles, and sells them to visitors. In return for your donation, I'll buy a Tribal Textiles item of your choice, and post it off to you when I get back! The difference between the cost of the item and the donation will be used to buy books and art materials, which will be used on the project, then left for other volunteers to use. If you'd like to donate less (which is absolutely fine, and very much appreciated!), I can send you a postcard from the banks of the Luangwa - see the rewards bit for more information. Thank you!
