Support us in raising the funds to create and print Bom Hadau, a positive news zine for Newport on People, Place, and Planet
Mainstream media can feel like a bin fire. Between the doom and gloom headlines and the focus on what’s broken, it’s easy to feel like the world is defined by its problems.
Bom Hadau (Seed Bomb in Welsh) is here to change the narrative. We are a new, small-format community zine co-created with people across Newport. Our mission? To tell the stories that usually go unheard: the stories of radical hope, local action, and the people making our city a better place to live, and better for the planet.
Our first edition is complete! Now, we need your support to make this sustainable. We want to build a platform where anyone—regardless of background, or experience—can get involved in our creative process, which includes journalism, storytelling, design, illustration, editing, distribution and more!
Why we need your help
Launching a magazine is easy; keeping it growing is the challenge. We are raising funds to secure the future of Bom Hadau. Your support will go directly toward:
- Eco-friendly Print Costs: Keeping the zine physical and accessible.
- Web Hosting: Ensuring our stories reach people online and providing more ways for people to get involved.
- Paying our Creatives: We believe community art has value. Your donations help us provide stipends for the local writers and artists who make the magazine beautiful.
