Hello from Bold Place!
We are a new creative business space in the heart of Liverpool, with a vision to transform our beautiful building into a powerhouse for women from all backgrounds. Bold Place is welcoming and inclusive, focused on empowering women creatives and providing a space for exploration and escape in a society where such opportunities are few and far between.
We are home to 11 creative female businesses and our aim is to share our space with the community. We hope to transform the heart of our building and our gorgeous sunny garden into accessible areas to host workshops, talks and provide space for other female focused groups to host their events.
We are nestled in between the historic and the contemporary at the top of Bold Street and next to St Luke’s ‘Bombed Out’ Church so we are in a prime location to welcome in our local community.
Your contribution will go towards bringing our plans to life - including essential equipment for our workshop space and all the unique details that will make Bold Place shine.
Who are we?
The idea for Bold Place came from a desire to make a space for women to work, inspire and grow creatively together. Through sharing a studio together for several years, we understand the importance of a women focused support network.
Cherie, a contemporary Artist and all round design genius, co founded Duke Street Art Studios in the city centre 9 years ago. Jess joined Duke Street two years later, building a fabulous career as a Mural Artist - you can find her work all over the city centre and around the world. Chris joined in 2018, after a move back to Liverpool, working as an independent Jeweller and Artist.
After our Duke Street tenancy ran out in 2019, the opportunity to take on Bold Place presented itself. The building was just bricks and mortar, and the commitment was a huge risk, but we knew we were up for the challenge. We put our heads together, discussed what we wanted from a work environment/community and dived in with both feet to create a business we could all be proud of.
We each specialise in different areas of running Bold Place and come together to support each other, so it's a smooth and safe place for our 8 other female creative business woman to shine. We are a dream team.

Bold Place is currently home to 11 creative businesses including a phenomenal Florist, Illustrators, Photographers and Artists.
Bold Place
We got our keys in 2021 but before we could start any work we were thrust into lockdown so our plans remained on hold until Autumn 2021 when we finally had the chance to start work on our new home. We inherited bricks and mortar and lots of plaster board but the place was still magical.
What is our vision?
We have spent the past several months getting our individual spaces set up for our personal businesses and now it is time for us to concentrate on the heart of Bold Place - a functional modern workshop space, home to our very own Bold Vision CIC. Here we will host events, talks, networking and a range of workshops. In doing so, we aim to support women's mental health and wellbeing, as well as helping them to express creatively and expand their opportunities.
What's the plan?
When the funding ends, the work begins!
When we took on our building it really was brick and plaster board so there is still so much for us to do. Firstly we need to tackle the lack of heating in our gorgeous building and switch to a much faster internet connection so we can open our space up to hot desking. We want to transform all the communal spaces, the walk ways, stairs, kitchen and most importantly the community space and garden. We want them to be comfortable, accessible and smart. We will work hard to make sure our community space is cosy and inviting and we have all the necessary equipment on hand to welcome other female led community groups into our space to host events too.
The garden is another important area we would love to maximise. It is a beautiful large sun filled garden and at the moment it is a dump. We hope to have it landscaped so our florist Dustymoon can grow some beautiful flowers, have an area for relaxation for our girls to take breaks and have a nice area which can be multi purpose. We have plans to host a female focussed film festival in the near future, screened on our huge outside wall, where we can really celebrate the diverse talent Liverpool has to offer. We also envisage welcoming the community in for painting sessions outside on snazzy new easels, outdoor networking and events of every kind to bring women together, to uplift and support one another.

We would love contributions to enable us to really make Bold Place Bold. It is a magical building with lots of history and we feel deeply honoured its in our care. With your help we can make it a home for all to share as well as being home to 11 creative businesses which are thriving in Liverpool and beyond. We have loads to give and lessons to share and we now have the space to do it.

PRE-ORDER Bold Place x The Little Taproom Gin
Because our gin is being specially created for us/you it will begin production once our crowdfunder ends. This means it will be ready for Christmas BUT we might miss the Christmas postage so we are making it available to collect from our lovely studio on the 20th - 22nd of December. Alternatively we will be shipping out early January 2023.

For the Art Lovers
I'm sure you know by now we are home to incredible creatives. Some of our girls works are in collections worldwide! If you would like to be one of them collectors our girls have created special limited edition designs especially for our cause as well as our Bold Place words to stand by piece! They are printed on the finest Giclee paper and signed by each Artist.
