Aim

Bold Snacks is developing a range of 99 calorie chocolate bars. Our products, are not only low calorie, are high protein, low sugar and fat.


Halo Top was the number 1 selling ice cream brand in America last year, low calorie snacks aren’t a fad, they’re a trend that’s here to stay.

Problem

38% of UK adults state they are trying to lose weight, but low calorie snacks are packed with sugar, while modern natural snacks are high in fat and calories. 

Solution

The Bold Snacks team are developing a range of 99 calorie chocolate bars. Our products, are not only low-calorie, they are the right kind of low-calorie for today’s consumer: high protein, low sugar & low fat.

Market

The UK’s healthy snack market is worth £400m, growing 2% year on year, and the global market is set to surpass £32bn by 2025.

Team

Combined, my co-founder and I have launched two successful chocolate brands and a successful tech startup, giving us the perfect skills to scale our business.

Our ultimate goal is to be the number 1 selling healthy snack brand, by revenue, in the UK by 2025.

Funding Requirements

We need £10k to finanlise our R&D and begin our first phase of manufacturing.

£4k - Finalising product recipe with industry leading new product development and pastry chef.

£3k - Nutrional and shelf life testing at a UK based laboratory.

£3k - Test phase manufacturing and product run.

So far, we have self-funded our business and are always looking for new and creative ways to raise further investment.

Product

We have spent the last six months researching our potential market, conducting 1-1 interviews, and compiling a product survey which received over 400 responses.

Working closely with a highly experienced Executive Pastry Chef we have created the ultimate moreish 99 calorie chocolate bar that doesn't compromise on taste, while low in fat and sugar and high in protein.  Our Chef has also previously worked with Thornton's, Nestle and Marks and Spencers and is highly experienced in creating and launching new scalable products to market.

Our rewards will include retail packs containing multiple cases of our 'new' chocolate products with a selection of flavours upon launch.  One case will include 12 chocolate bars.
