Bognor Regis Cricket Club currently has three Saturday league teams, a Sunday friendly team, and thriving ladies team. We also have an ever-growing colts section.

All Stars Programme The Club has been participating in the ECB All Stars Initiative for a number of years.  The programme introduces younger children to cricket in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, attracting a mix of boys and girls from the local community it has continued to grow each year. The club also has a strong junior section for 8-19-year olds.  As well as the physical activity, we encourage plenty of social interaction. Friday evening sees the older junior children train, with parents, either volunteering or socialising at our summer bar “The Last Wicket”

Junior Teams: Our junior teams have produced many successful young cricketers who have progressed through the club to our senior teams with many also making the District and Sussex youth teams.  Our first team captain Ryan and Ladies Team Captain Tanya both played at youth county level. Two of our current crop of colts currently represent the county, our U17 captain Taylor who is currently part of the Sussex County Development Pathway and has represented the county at up to U19 level and Lulu who represents Sussex Women at U16.

Our Junior teams up to U19 level regularly make the finals of both T20 and Sussex Junior Cricket Festival and have taken home the main prize on several occasions.

Senior Teams: Our three league teams are made up of mostly home-grown players. Our 1st Team who play in Division Two narrowly missed out in 2019 on promotion to the Premier League. Our 2nd Team and 3rd Team had strong seasons in 2019 with a good mix of senior and junior players. Our successful ladies team started playing friendlies in 2017 and made the transition to league cricket in 2018 making the final of the Sussex T20 cup and finishing top of their league. In 2019 saw them have another successful year again making finals day of the Sussex T20 cup.

Events:  We run fund raising and social events throughout the year including bingo, quiz nights and BBQ’s.  We also hold our annual Presidents day in August and an Awards dinner and dance in November.  Obviously, this year everything has had to be either cancelled or put on hold.

The club, with a long history in the surrounding area, really wants to continue to play a vital role in our community providing a safe environment for children, adults and guests to enjoy cricket.

The club had big plans for 2020. But COVID-19 has created a nightmare situation for sports and cricket clubs alike. Bognor Regis Cricket Club is no different.  Financially, we rely heavily on member contributions to run the club, with our numerous bills to pay, and no income to speak of, we are in urgent need of financial assistance.

We had and still have a huge to do list this year which includes but is not limited to:

  • Revamping our very tired and inadequate nets. Useable nets are the lynch pin of any club and unfortunately ours are now at the end of their life
  • Currently our only social space is a first floor area with no lift. We urgently need to establish an accessible ground floor social space next to our existing scorer’s hut.
  • We also urgently need girls/ ladies changing facilities.  Our girls/ladies side is growing all the time but to maintain this we must have suitable facilities

As you will all be aware, the coronavirus has had a significant impact on all our lives and put a serious dent in all cricketing plans this summer and we will see no league cricket until 2021. We are determined to survive and to keep offering our members an amazing facility but we need your help.  Nature doesn't stop so our square and outfield will still need plenty of maintenance over the summer, playing or not.

We realise everyone is experiencing difficult and uncertain times at present but we are determined to survive and become a bigger, better and stronger club.  Our goal is to raise at least £5,000 with a stretch target of £15,000.

We welcome any donations however small, and the support of anyone who can help us navigate this uncertain period so that by the start of the new 2021 cricket season we will have made a significant start on improving our facilities for future generations to come.

 Club Mission Statement

To continue the development of our club and cricket within our community, to become the “club of choice” for both serious and social cricketers
