To create a new venue for creativity in Exeter. Arts council will match fund when we reach £12,500 meaning your donation doubles.
We’ve just had some wonderful news. The Boat Shed pop up project has been approved for funding through the Artists + The Crowd match funding. This means that Arts Council England will match the pledges you make and your donation will go twice as far.
This summer, for sixteen weeks, the old maritime museum will spring into life. Filled with theatre, visual art, live music, comedy, cocktails, ice-cream and the best mini golf course this side of Marsh Barton, we're holding an open invitation to the people of Exeter to get a taste of what the future of this building could be like.
To do this, we need your help. We need to raise £25,000 to make the building safe, plumb toilets and build a bar. We want to use the brilliant Landworks charity to build our furniture (from a sustainability-felled Dartington Estate redwood) and to commission an Exeter artist to design our golf course.
We've offered a few small rewards, but as ever, the main thing you get is that warm glow of making something happen.
It'll be impossible without you. With you, it could be splendid.
This project has been approved for funding through the Artists + The Crowd match funding. It will receive a top up of 50% towards its fundraising target from Arts Council England.
