On the 7th May 2020 we'd raised £8,067 with 154 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
The ongoing situation with coronavirus has had a severely detrimental effect on all Football Clubs. This particularly affects non league clubs, who rely on supporters through the turnstiles on a fortnightly basis for a large portion of their income generation.
We are also informed that it is unlikely that any of the allocated £125 million by the FA for EFL and National League Clubs will filter down to clubs such as Gainsborough Trinity FC
Gainsborough Trinity which are a well financially run club have suddenly found that overnight the club has been thrown into a financial crisis with the chairman recently quoting a figure in excess of 40% of their overall income arising from turnstile and match day monies.
With in all likelihood no competitive football to be played for the foreseeable future, this page allows supporters to assist in submitting a donation to the club to help plug the gap in finances as a result of the shutdown caused by coronavirus pandemic.
As a club at the heart of the Gainsborough & wider Lincolnshire community, we are aware of the devastating economic impact that COVID-19 is having and will have on the local area and further afield. As such, it is our responsibility to play our part in contributing to a community response, giving hope and positivity for the future.
While the club at the moment during these unprecedented times are facing uncertainty, we know that many small and medium sized businesses will also be feeling the strain from the pandemic.
We are eager to ensure that no supplier or partner fails to make ends meet because there is no football in the short-term, and that Trinity has sufficient resources to meet all our obligations in a timely way. We are also grateful for the many offers of help we have received from members of the Blue Army.
As a result, we have taken the decision to bring forward the availability of a number of ticket packages, sponsorship opportunities and VIP experiences from our upcoming 2020/21 season to ensure that we have the cashflow to fund our contracts with suppliers and stakeholders.
Included in the vast range of options are stand naming rights for the Carlilse Street stand, our fantastic home terrace, stretching the length of the Northolme, as well as the Gas Works end (covered terrace). Director experiences, at both home and away fixtures, are also available, as well as a number of hospitality packages and match tickets.
We are aware, of course, that the current situation stretches beyond football, and into the wider community as a whole. Beloved members of our NHS continue to work above and beyond to protect our families and save lives, and the club would like to offer them a gesture of our gratitude.
For every £75 raised in our crowdfunding campaign, we will donate one match ticket for the 2020/21 season to NHS staff from the Lincolnshire NHS Trust.
On the launch of the crowdfunding campaign, Football Club Chairman Richard Kane said: “The current pandemic stretches way beyond the football industry. However, the club feels a very real sense of responsibility to do everything it can to support our stakeholders – many of them members of the Blue Army themselves."
"It is not enough for us to simply sit tight and hope that it all blows over. By moving forward a number of package opportunities for next season, we are able to ensure cashflow in the short term, as well as give a little back to the NHS heroes who are working to keep us all safe and healthy.”
