Fund the repair of 3 hard courts surface, and make tennis accessible to a wider range of players by offering walking tennis on these courts.
Blossomfield Tennis Club is part of a multi-sport venue in the heart of Solihull, and has deep roots in the Community. Originally set up by a group of Air Raid Wardens after the Second World War, at "The Bloss", as it is affectionately known, besides Tennis, our members can play Hockey, Cricket, Bowls, Petanque, and Chess.

With over 300 members and a thriving junior section, we aim to make tennis as widely accessible as possible. A very welcoming club, we are passionate about supporting players of all abilities and ages. Our coaches are highly qualified, coaching the county junior teams, adult performance players as well as players new to the sport.

Out of seven courts available at the club, 3 hardcourts have fallen into disrepair and not suitable to play on. This is a missed opportunity as availability is limited; increased capacity will allow us to further enhance the club offering, particularly for the less able. The courts need to be re-surfaced so that they can be used safely for tennis and it will make them particularly ideal for walking tennis. We aim to raise at least £8750 to complete this work for all 3 courts. It will allow us to continue our initiatives to make tennis an accessible sport, following the installation of ramps for wheelchair access only a few years ago.

This project will create an opportunity for those who may not be able to take part in a fast paced racket sport to participate in tennis and enjoy playing the game at a slower pace. In time, they may progress to tennis or even take part in one of the other sports that are available at the club. Playing sport is very beneficial both physically and mentally, and is also an opportunity to meet people and socialise in a friendly environment. Accessibility and inclusivity are paramount to the club ethos and we are keen to carry on attracting players from diverse backgrounds and abilities in a family friendly atmosphere.
There are two simple ways to help us reach our target, and make our project a reality.
Firstly, donate ! no matter how small or large, every donation counts. Momentum is key though, we need at least 25 supporters, and have 8 weeks to meet our target. We have been offered a conditional award by Sport England as long as the crowdfunding raises the other 50%, so we need your support!
Secondly, spread the word. Share our project on social media and tell our community to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
Finally, we will be running a few events, to raise some money, watch out for quizzes, raffles and friendly competition!
