Bliss In A Bite Expansion

Aim

I am looking to expand my baking business which is currently run from home, I'd like to hopefully purchase a unit and new equipment.

Hi! My name is Rahma, I have been passionate about baking for as long as I can remember, and love creating unique sweet treats and inventing new recipes.

A bit about the Bliss In A Bite journey so far:

I founded Bliss In A Bite six months ago after finally deciding to take the leap and begin my baking business after years of being encouraged by family and friends. It has been an amazing outlet for me after receiving the news that my Mum had Stage 4 Cancer. As a carer for her and someone who has struggled with my mental health for years and has given me drive and focus. 

During this time I have managed to employ three local residents of Luton and pay them above minimum wage for assisting me in the kitchen with baking as well as cake deliveries. I have greatly improved my skills through a lot of practice and trial and error leading to my being able to cater weddings, corporate events, and supplying local businesses. Additionally, I have expanded my menu to serve those with intolerances to gluten and dairy making sure that everyone can enjoy our bakes!

The plan:

In return for any much-appreciated investment, we will be offering a variety of discounts, special offers, and exclusive boxes of our bakes sent to your house in return for your support. On top of this, we will be able to work within our local community to employ more workers and contribute to bettering the lives of people from underprivileged backgrounds who may not receive the same chances as others, we want to especially focus on making our business one which supports those struggling with mental and physical health conditions and accommodating for this. I would like to train young people in baking and cake decorating offering them opportunities different from conventional schooling to encourage creativity.

My biggest aim at the moment is to move to new premises, currently, I am working from my home kitchen where the space is no longer feasible, I can't meet the demand and also don't have the space for full-time employees to work alongside me. 

I am looking to secure a unit that I can convert into a suitable working place but this requires funds. Once I am able to work in a bespoke-built unit I will be able to build a team and try new ideas, and create new cakes and treats. I am especially keen to be able to start postal boxes nationwide meaning anyone in the UK can enjoy Bliss In A Bite bakes. 

This business is truly my passion project. I really enjoy what I do and want nothing more than to be able to continue to do it and work with people around me to make it a real success and to make working with my business a memorable experience for all no matter who they are.
