The BestLight Community Hub gives people a sense of Community. Our services help people to learn, reflect, grow and thrive!
The LightBeam Academy is creating an incredible community space at The BestLight Community Hub where people of all ages, backgrounds and race can come together. The Hub was purchased by the Academy (charity no: 1179496) to develop initiatives and projects that serve the whole community. The BestLight Hub is managed by a small team of staff and we have a great team of volunteers who help out at our events.
Please support our appeal to help us grow further. There are many projects in the pipeline that we want to get off the ground including supporting people with financial literacy, parenting classes and support for asylum seekers and refugees. This appeal will help to renovate and modernise parts of the Hub to help us to continue supporting the local community which includes creating a top-class sports arena. We will be able to renovate the sports hall which will include specialist non-slip flooring and equipment. We will also be able to expand our Archery provision to include teenagers and adults.
With your support we will deliver new sports classes such as women's only self-defence classes and gymnastics.
This appeal will mean we can reach out to more people, including young people and more people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We will be able to offer more services to a wider range of people and make the Hub a centre of hope and inclusiveness for all. Every penny helps so please do support us and share our page with your family and friends. Anyone wishing to visit the Hub, please do get in touch. Thank you!
We're helping to deliver educational classes for children and adults. Children learn through creativity, messy play and lots of singing making the sessions engaging and fun.

We also focus heavily on sports projects as we know how much sport and exercise can help children and young develop their confidence and team skills. We have delivered Archery Sessions, FitKids, Yoga Classes and Wrestling for all ages.

It's not all about ourselves either - we teach children and young people the importance of looking after others including our environment and the planet. We regularly take part in community programmes including raising funds for local hospices and foodbanks.

Mental health and wellbeing is incredibly important to us too and we've delivered online mental health seminars to over 500 people. We run Mother's and toddler groups, and delivered lots of family events for the whole Community to benefit. Most recently, we delivered an exciting Holiday programme in partnership with Pendle Borough Council ensuring local children had food and activities during the holidays.

Over the past year, despite COVID-19 restrictions, we've managed to engage 880 children, young people and adults at the Hub and we expect to more than double that in the coming year!
