Aim

Raising £9,500 for a new bladder cystoscopy couch to cut waiting times by 50% and improve treatment outcomes for cancer patients.

We are a local cancer charity committed to providing support for NHS Services across London and the South-East.

Last year, nearly 1,000 patients were referred to Beckenham Beacon’s busy urology service with suspected bladder cancer. Demand continues to rise, driven in part by increased public awareness following the diagnoses of His Majesty King Charles III and Sir Chris Hoy.

Every patient referred urgently needs an internal bladder examination but currently, the hospital can only carry out this procedure in one room. This means longer waits, slower diagnoses and delayed treatment.

What Will Your Donation Fund?

The Chartwell Cancer Trust is raising £9,500 to purchase a specialist diagnostic couch, a critical piece of equipment that patients must be positioned on to undergo bladder examinations at Beckenham Beacon Hospital, part of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation.

With this equipment, the hospital will be able to:

  • Open a second room
  • Double the number of procedures it performs
  • Reduce waiting times to the NHS target of 10 days

Who Will It Help?

This equipment will support patients from across South East London, including:

  • Bromley
  • Lewisham
  • Southwark
  • Greenwich
  • Bexley
  • Lambeth

Together, these boroughs represent a population of nearly 1 million people. King’s is also a recognised cancer centre serving South-East England and beyond.

Why It Matters

Earlier diagnosis of cancer leads to:

  • Quicker treatment
  • Better outcomes
  • Improved quality of life

You can help make this possible.

Every Pound Counts

Whether you give £5 or £500, your donation will help us improve the speed and quality of care for bladder cancer patients across the region.

Donate now and be part of something truly life-changing.
