Blackpool Carnival 2026

Aim

Blackpool Carnival is taking place this year on Sunday 5th July and will include a procession and stage on the Comedy Carpet.

The Procession, will commence at 12 noon and is estimated to finish about 3.00pm after which the stage artists will immediately start performing continually until the end of the event at 9.00pm

This day will be the climax of months of workshops and preparation by as many people as feasible locally, many of whom live in some of the poorest neighbourhoods in the UK. All are encouraged to take part by dressing up as characters and joining in the fun. The joint theme for 2026 is Caribbean Pirates and Alice in Wonderland and by using this grant funding, materials will be provided to make costumes and dresses enabling professional trainers to organise workshops to teach the creative skills required, thereby encouraging many to participate in the event (thereby raising their self-esteem) and others to acquire skills in using textiles and other materials which are transferable to other scenarios (such and clothes-making and repair.)

Our performance stage will be on the Comedy Carpet and will be open from 12.00 noon to 9.00pm (when the World Cup game starts - come on England!!!) We will be showcasing local talent and inviting performers of all ages to take part.
