Help Us Celebrate England's 1100th Anniversary

Aim

Our mission is to raise money for a series of events that will take place across England in 2027, culminating in our July Festival Weekend

On 12th July 927, King Athelstan met with noblemen from Northumbria and other British kings. This pivotal meeting near Penrith in Cumbria was the moment when Athelstan completed the unification of the English people. From this point onwards the people living in England were governed by one king and one law code. The English nation was given a home.

Our Birth of England project is dedicated to celebrating and commemorating this historic event. We believe it is essential to honour our past and bring communities together through various events leading up to a grand festival at Brougham Hall, near Penrith, in July 2027. This celebration will not only highlight our rich heritage but also inspire future generations to appreciate the unity that defines us as a nation.
