Raising money to help Cystic Fibrosis

7TH MARCH 2024: SIXES CRICKET BEAT THE PRO CHALLENGE

Supporting fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis, they will receive 100% of your donation and multiply it through Charity Auction or Direct Sales.

(there are Rewards please check Updates)

As a lifelong cricket lover, finally, I get to have a go at one of my own experience days and take on the Beat the Pro challenge. Not sure how my four overs of batting mayhem will threaten that of our host as the stats leading into the event will bear out I am in my 50's and alas that refers to age not batting average, in fact I am not sure I even totalled 50 runs all last season...

BILLY COTTON ENGLAND LIST A CAPS 0

Though I was a net bowler to John Crawley for 5 minutes at Adelaide in 1995

JOHN SIMPSON LIST A / T20 RUNS: 4437
 BILLY COTTON LIST A / T20 RUNS: 0

Thankfully I do get bonus runs linked to how much I fundraise and true to the principles of these unique challenges your donations will be multiplied by CF and their supporters selling places on such Athlete Challenge Days.

I get One Bonus Run every £25 raised...so hoping that the project and the chance to help create a cricketing miracle will inspire you to make a £5 donation.

Alternatively, if you definitely want John Simpson to win also donate just mention his name in comments. (I won't be offended it all helps CF).

This is how your £5+ donations will help crowdfund places on Athlete Days that generate more money for good causes and have done since 2012

HOW THIS WILL WORK

We will use the total raised and allocate places to CF and their supporters until all places are sold.

We will definitely multiply the amount by a minimum 50% but obviously not sure when all places will be sold...but they will be eventually especially as its an Olympic Year.

PRIZES TO BE WON BY YOU

All donors are entered into a draw to win signed athlete memorabilia, event tickets and places on days with the athletes. For every £1K raised in total across all Beat the Medallist / Beat the Pro fundraising we do a draw and you get to choose the prize from the constantly updated list. (We are currently £290 shy of the second draw.)

About me

I am fundraising and supporting CF as part of the overall efforts of the Bristol based Clifton Softball League, to honour the memory of my Sons of Pitches team mate and league legend Pete Hatch.

I am a keen amateur cricketer, with very few claims to cricketing glory apart from bowling out Piers Morgan  (before he was truly famous / loathed). Batting Average around 8, scorer of two undefeated 50's and lots of similar scores if you take the 5 away. I am hoping this will inspire others to take on these unique challenges and raise funds for their club or chosen good causes.
