About Us
Creation Cycles is an independent bike shop in Radcliffe on Trent. Founded in 2013, by owner Liam Dudley, Creation Cycles offers premium mountain bikes, servicing, and distribution of We Are One Composites in the UK and Europe. We have also successfully run a mountain bike race team with riders competing at the British Downhill Series and UCI World Cups. Not only this, in 2022 we launched a BMX team supporting young talented riders and helping them progress towards their goals. Through the shop we have been very fortunate to ride various bike parks across the world from UK, France and Canada.
The Vision
We aim to develop a new uplift assisted bike park on the border of Nottinghamshire that caters to everyone from beginner to professional riders. A truly family friendly environment which showcases the sport, opens opportunities for participation and gets more people active. The bike park will consist of 10 downhill trails (with more added over a number of years) varying in length from 2-3km per run, be uplift assisted and have a shop with a cafe. The trails will range from green (beginner trails) through to purple (Pro Lines). With the wide experience we have had alongside our trail building team we will not only look to deliver our plan but also add into the various trail styles found across the world. As you will see from the images below the site has varying terrain allowing us to create mellow trails for less experienced riders and steep trails for those more experienced.
After consultation with the landowners, it has been agreed we can now start to deliver this project. The aim is to open in Summer of 2024 and be fully operational at that point.
Alongside this the bike park will offer coaching sessions, chaperones for juniors, summer camps, races and more. No matter what age or ability we aim to deliver an exciting environment for people just getting into the sport to those who are seasoned professionals.
This project not only delivers a bike park that can be enjoyed by all but will also generate numerous jobs, ranging from shop staff, drivers, coaching staff, mechanics and work experience opportunities.
With all the money raised, the proceeds will help to fund the construction of the trails and buildings required to deliver the bike park.
Future Development and Plans
Like any bike park as the park is used, it requires maintenance. We will therefore have an onsite trail maintenance and development team who will be in charge of keeping the trails running perfectly as well as adding new features. Furthermore they will continuously be adding more trails to keep the riding fresh and to push people’s abilities.
On site facilities
Once arriving at the park there will be numerous facilities to maximise your experience. These are as follows;
Meet the team
Liam Dudley (Director) - Founder and owner of Creation Cycles, Liam has over 10 years in the bike industry. Liam has not only spent these years running the shop but has also managed the team riders. His passion for riding bikes and grassroots development has pushed the shop to be in the position it is today. He's helped numerous riders achieve a high level of performance and gain direct brand deals. Liam’s favourite riding locations include Revolution, Golfie and Pleney.
Fin Butler (Director) - Fin has spent the last two years working as Creation Cycles’ Manager, supporting the sales of We Are One and other areas of the business. His previous roles have also included planning and delivery of summer camps and coaching courses. Like Liam, he has a keen interest in grassroots development. Fin has been involved in the riding scene for over 6 years and working in it for a combined time of 3 years. His favourite riding spots are Wharncliffe, Revolution, North Vancouver Mt Fromme and Whistler.
Trail Builder JP Sculpt
“Walking around the woodland I was in awe at how beautiful the woods are and how perfect it is for a bike park. The available terrain is absolutely incredible. I’m super excited to play a part in creating what could be amongst the best mountain bike destinations in the UK and will do everything I can to realise this goal. Given there are no bike parks anywhere close and the project is so close to home, I’m stoked to see this come to life.”
Extended Team
Alongside this we are very fortunate to have numerous other people who help support the shop whether that is media or weekend staff. As previously mentioned, the bike park will also look to take on numerous new staff members which will be advertised closer to launch. All staff members will undergo emergency first aid training and DBS checks.
