We’re launching a countryside escape, planting trees and growing a friendly alpaca herd; all powered by community and solar energy.

Hi! We're Dave & Emms and we're really looking forward to welcoming you to the Big Sky Hideaway - a peaceful community-driven oasis tucked away in central Lincolnshire offering unique glamping, camping, alpacas and fireside events that harness the magic of nature.
Our main aim is to create an escape where people can make memories, feel comfortable pausing in nature for a while, and where new friends are just a campfire story away.
We've voluntarily run communities for years and our dream has always been to pair a love for bringing like-minded people together with a business that makes the outdoors accessible to all.
Big Sky will be run with good intentions every single day. By the end of the first year our whole site will be powered by renewable energy and built mostly using recycled, up-cycled and sustainable materials.
We're so excited to have an incredible blank canvas to play with, and this crowdfunder is all about getting the more community-based elements of the project started.
We've put aside space to plant 2000 trees in the coming years and we see groups of smiling people (whether we're socially distanced or not) coming together for the first plant in Spring 2021.
We've been talking, dreaming and even joking about having alpacas, and part of this idea is down to the feeling these wonderful animals give to people. We can't wait to have them around in the Spring and to share their character with you, in person and online.
We genuinely want visitors to feel like the Big Sky Hideaway is home, and can't wait to welcome you back year after year.
Being outside is essential for our mental health - 2020 especially has certainly highlighted that for many people - and this is exactly why we are launching this before Christmas, so that you can give the gift of the outdoors this festive season and give something to look forward to in the New Year.
Every 'reward' bought through this crowdfunder campaign will receive a digital certificate containing the details of your donation and the reward so that you can print it at home or send it to a loved one as a gift.
Although there are some options to support us from afar, we've been keen to provide lots of ways that you can help out with a visit in person. You know, because we want to see you!

Emms hanging out with alpacas at our first handlers course. We plan on starting our herd with just three alpacas but growing it each year.
We heartily encourage thinking big, living simply and being brave, kind, curious and creative.
We have so many ideas for a variety of different sleeping experiences at Big Sky, giving guests the choice of different levels of comfort.
So whether you camp, rest up in a converted bus or choose a floating sky bed in our woodland, you'll be sure to have a unique story to take away with you.

Our converted American School Bus can sleep six, comes with kitchen, heater, super comfy seating and will live in its own little private garden at Big Sky, including firepit, seating and table tennis!

The YesBus is SayYesMore's community basecamp, and in between community weekends the bus will be available for sleeps with proceeds helping to support the ongoing running of the YesTribe community, who organise free events nationwide to bring people together in the great outdoors.
And our little herd of Alpacas will be a curious and calming influence on any visit to Big Sky and we can't wait for the Spring when they can move in and meet you.

In addition to independent breaks at Big Sky, we will be hosting plenty of workshops, microfestivals and community tree planting events so you can really get your hands dirty, learn skills and make a difference.
We are committed to our ongoing tree-planting policy - to plant a minimum of 500 new trees a year - either on our site or with one of our partner projects through SayYesMore.

In 2021 we plan to start developing our permaculture garden, get going on an orchard, and keep lots of chickens and bees, which means fresh eggs and farm-made honey galore!
Big Sky has been a long time coming for us and we're so excited to start creating this incredible space. Along the way we'd like to invite you to play a part in the Big Sky Hideaway's evolution, and as much as we'd like to tackle every aspect of the project straight away there is a lot to do over the first few years to grow our epic vision.
We care about the environment and believe strongly in taking care of our own little corner of the planet, with minimal impact from our buildings and guests. We operate a 'Leave No Trace' policy and are actively planning ways to protect and promote conservation of wildlife and the local environment - think wildflowers, wild berries and owl boxes!
And we'll be working closely with our local community to get more people spending time outside, and we've committed to supporting small businesses whether it's in the sourcing of materials and new sleeping pods, to the ever-important morning coffee available in every glamping pod.

We are inviting you to join our community and be a part of creating something truly special. We are incredibly lucky to have a blank canvas to work with so we welcome any and all help to evolve our space; from building stables and fencing for the Alpacas, to planting trees and building unique spaces from sustainable resources.
All funds raised will all be invested back into Big Sky and in return for your support we're excited to offer discounted glamping and hands-on experiences for 2021, invites to special events, and a couple of other treats!
Thank you so much for your support in helping our unique dream grow some wings, we can't wait to keep you posted on developments and to see you at Big Sky in person in 2021.
