A quiet Boxing Day in Bibury? Not a chance.
On Saturday 26 December 2026, thousands of bright yellow ducks will take to the River Coln for one of the Cotswolds’ quirkiest and best loved traditions.
For every £2 you pledge, you sponsor one numbered duck. All it needs then is a fast current, a clean line under the bridge and the heart of a champion.
The fastest ducks will win some brilliant prizes, with the full prize list to be announced soon.
This is classic Bibury. A beautiful setting, a wonderful crowd and just the right amount of countryside nonsense.
From Bibury to the world
Our little village race has made quite a splash over the years.
The Bibury Duck Race has featured in The Telegraph, ITV News, The Guardian, Indy100, Gloucestershire Live, SoGlos and Stroud Times. It has even crossed the Atlantic through coverage from United Press International.
Not bad for a few thousand bath toys floating down a Cotswold river.
Now we want the 2026 race to be our biggest, brightest and most gloriously competitive yet.
Who are we?
We are Bibury Cricket Club, a friendly village club with a big love for cricket, community and our beautiful corner of the Cotswolds.
Our ground brings together players, families, villagers and visitors throughout the year. Whether it is a summer match, a club event or thousands of people cheering plastic ducks down the River Coln, we are proud to create moments that bring Bibury together.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Village cricket does not run on cover drives and optimism alone.
Keeping the club thriving means maintaining our ground, caring for our facilities, investing in equipment and creating opportunities for players of all ages to enjoy the game.
Every duck sponsored helps us protect the future of Bibury Cricket Club and keep this wonderful village tradition racing for years to come.
How we will spend the money raised
Funds raised through the 2026 Bibury Duck Race will help us maintain our ground and facilities, invest in club equipment, support younger players and keep village cricket accessible and welcoming.
Your duck might only be in the water for a few minutes, but its impact will last much longer.
