Aim
We’re building a music academy and community led live venue project in the West End of Newcastle giving young people real access to music,
🎵 About Beyond Music Community CIC
We’ve launched Beyond Music Community CIC to create real change, a community driven music academy and live music hub that’s fair, inclusive and artist-first.
Based in the West End of Newcastle, our goal is to provide free and funded places for young people from underfunded areas to access the world of music, from songwriting and recording to performance and live sound tech.
We already have the passion, the space and the community. But we now need your help to raise the money for equipment and setup costs so we can get the first sessions running.
🎯 What We’re Raising Funds For
We are fundraising to buy the first essential bits of gear that will let us launch recording sessions and workshops. Thanks to a contact in the industry, we have the chance to get over £5,000 worth of live and studio equipment for just £3,000 but we only have a limited time to secure this deal.
This kit will be used to:
- Run studio & live recording sessions and workshops
- Train young people in live sound, lighting and production
- Host gigs in professional spaces with industry standard setups
- Give young people the chance to record and release music through our CIC
- Create a sustainable venue and workshop model where profits are reinvested to support the next generation
🧒 Who Will This Help?
This is for the young people of the West End and beyond.
Our community includes teenagers and young adults who have never had access to music lessons, equipment or opportunities. Some are already talented musicians and writers. Others have never picked up an instrument before.
We want to remove the financial and cultural barriers that stop them from being part of the music scene.
With your help, we can say:

💡 Why This Matters
Newcastle has an amazing music scene, but it’s not always accessible or fair.
We want to change that.
This isn’t just about running a few music workshops. It’s about building something bigger, sustainable and inclusive. Something led by the people, for the people, not a corporate funded headline grabbing venue, but a real space for real musicians and future professionals.
We’re creating:
- A full time music academy for youth and community use
- A network of fully kitted out live venues (100, 200, and 500 cap)
- A studio space for local recording and learning
- An artist first record label and publishing arm to support talent
- A grassroots pathway from bedroom to big stage open to everyone
