Supporting 20 new mums with postnatal bonding courses, giving mums & babies the best start to life, through bonding, support and connection.
We’re Melissa and Vicky, founders of Beyond the Bump and passionate antenatal and postnatal educators. Together, we’ve supported hundreds of families through the joys and challenges of early parenthood. But time and again, we saw what was missing: real, meaningful postnatal support that puts mum’s wellbeing first—and makes sure no one is left behind.
In 2025 we registered Beyond the Bump as a community interest company, and we started our movement to change this. Our project is built on the belief that every family matters, and that early connection—between mum and baby, and between mums themselves—can change lives.
🌍 The Problem
Pregnancy and postnatal support does exist—but too often, it’s only accessible to those who can afford it.
This leaves many families, especially those from underprivileged, isolated or vulnerable backgrounds, without the emotional or practical care they need in the early days of motherhood.
Common barriers include:
Too many women are left feeling overwhelmed, unseen, and alone at one of the most vulnerable times in their lives.
🌱 Our Vision: Every Family Matters
Beyond the Bump was created to offer something different: community-led, compassionate care that’s free at the point of access and truly inclusive.
Over the next year, we aim to support 1000 families across Warwickshire through:
🌼 Postnatal recovery packs
🍼 Mum & baby essential kits
🏠 Home visits and wellbeing check-ins
☕ Coffee mornings & sensory sessions
💬 1:1 birth debriefs
🤱 Bonding and attachment courses
We want to rebuild the pregnancy & postnatal village—offering care, connection and community when it's needed most.

🎯 This Campaign - Bonding Begins Here will fund the first 20 mums
This crowdfunder is the first step toward our wider vision. We’re raising £2,000 to run two 6-week bonding & wellbeing courses for 20 new mums and their babies.
These courses are completely free to attend and include:
Your support covers room hire, refreshments, equipment, admin support, facilitator costs, and outreach so we can reach mums who otherwise wouldn’t be able to access this support.
🧡 “I didn’t realise how much I needed this until I was there. I felt seen, heard, and finally not alone.”
