Mobilise our life changing workshops to reach vulnerable people. To provide life changing skills, financial independence & escape isolation.
Beyond Food uses food to remove barriers that inhibit individuals from securing financial independence, freedom from isolation, and confidence to build better futures.
All our programmes help Individuals to focus on their future. Identify barriers to progression and helps individuals understand how to overcome and manage these. The programme helps increase self-awareness, personal leadership, and ownership - whilst developing aspirations for long-term change.
Our programmes currently run from our social enterprise restaurant The Brigade Bar & Kitchen, central London (SE1), where individuals receive hands-on and real-life opportunities that have a major impact. Beyond Food’s work sees 90% of people supported move into work or education.
We know that many individuals who need our support are unable to access it. For a variety of reasons: childcare, cost of travel, anxiety/confidence linked to new environments/travel as well as the fear associated with meeting new people or engaging in new activities. This funding will empower us to set up an outreach programme, with a mobile vehicle. Enabling us to work with individuals or smaller groups in their communities or already established networks of people, ie prisons, rehabilitation centres, food banks, women's groups, shelters, culturally established groups, gangs and youth justice networks as well as schools and pupil referral units for students outside of mainstream education.
Our small but mighty team of six people all have lived experience. Truly embedding beneficiary understanding and empathy.
The vision is a specially adapted vehicle that will enable the team to host a plethora of opportunities for individuals and small groups to engage in, such as:
