We're still collecting donations

On the 18th November 2022 we'd raised £26,026 with 143 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

 New stretch target

Add more benches and outdoor seating and pay towards solar panels for a more efficient and sustainable club.

Who are we?

We are Chesham Cricket Club - a friendly and welcoming club that runs senior men’s teams, junior boys and girls sides and women’s hard ball and soft ball cricket teams.

We need your help to create the perfect facilities to make Chesham Cricket Club a welcoming playing and social environment for all members of the local community.

Our community impact

We are also home to Chesham Comedy Club and the Soundproof Jazz Quintet’s monthly jazz night. The pavilion is available for our community and is regularly booked for parties, weddings and memorials, as well as other sports and activities and first aid training, young leader and safeguarding courses.

Why are we crowdfunding?

After a successful Crowdfunder campaign last year we have grown as a club and now the space to play needs to grow with us. We need better outdoor seating, proper furniture for the bar area, more car parking spaces, better disabled access, increased storage and decent changing facilities. As well as this we need to repair fencing and decking which has rotted and install handrails and sun shades to protect those who use the club. We want to make the club as welcoming and comfortable as possible.

How our project will be United by Birmingham 2022

Among the aims of the 2022 Commonwealth Games were bringing people together, improving health and wellbeing and being a catalyst for change. We aim to celebrate these aims and create a local legacy by encouraging new players to the club and providing a welcoming place for our community to visit. With women’s cricket making its debut at Birmingham 2022 we have an exciting opportunity to encourage more women into the sport but to do this we need to offer the right environment, including decent changing facilities, proper storage for spare kit and comfortable seating for post-match socialising.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money from this crowdfunder will go towards improving the club facilities, inside and out. This includes:

  • Repairs to the disabled lift
  • Fixing the rotting decking and picket fence which will soon be unsafe
  • Installing a handrail next to the additional staircase to prevent slips and trips
  • Improved car parking
  • Purchasing cosy furniture for the bar area to expand seating
  • Adding storage around the bar for glasses and optics
  • Replacing and adding tables in the patio area
  • New signs to welcome you to the club
  • Final work on the net ends
  • Finishing the BBQ area and adding refrigeration so we can cater for halal and non-halal food
  • Additional storage so we can make better use of space in the changing rooms
  • Water softener to save wear and tear on the boilers and kitchen equipment

How you can help

It's so simple and there's a way everyone can help. You can:

1. Make a pledge and claim a reward. We have had some brilliant donations from local businesses and club members. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell your friends and family and colleagues to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards yourself. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters and get a shout out!

4. Create a fundraiser of your own. Use the button on our page to get started and choose a crazy idea to start fundraising for our project.

Get involved and help to make Chesham Cricket Club the wonderful place we know it can be.

Building on our previous campaign

Our last Crowdfunder campaign was a huge success. Thanks to the generosity of people like you we were able to expand the grounds, build the very popular coffee shop in the The Shed, add more storage units, erect nets around the perimeter of the grounds, add the noticeboard and honours board, and so much more. We couldn't have done it without your support and we hope you will support us again to make Chesham Cricket Club a welcoming playing and social environment for all members of the local community.
