Who are we?
Founded in 1893 Oundle Golf Club has been providing a friendly and welcoming place for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy golf for over 130 years. The golf club is run by the members for the community and seeks only to make the facilities as good and as accessible as possible.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Funds raised will be used to improve accessibility for all around the golf course.
With several small hills and valleys, some of course can be tricky to access, with some steep paths and steps to and from tee boxes. As we reach out to more and more potential golfers we truly believe that golf should be a healthy leisure option for all abilities of all ages.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We will install much needed handrails and new pathways on 4 golf holes, the 2nd, 11th , 5th and 17th , to enable safer and easier access to the tee boxes. This will not only prevent the risk of accidents but also allow better access and enjoyment of the course and the game for all ages and all abilities.
Community impact
As well as serving over 450 local members, we also welcome visitors from the community. The physical and mental benefits of golf are well known, an exciting pursuit, which requires minimum levels of fitness, enjoyed in the beautiful countryside.
Current and potential players with physical conditions will be able to enjoy a much safer and easier to use facility once the improvements have been made.
How you can play your part
Help us to raise £2500 to fund these much needed improvements. For every pound we raise Sport England have generously agreed to match up to £2500. With £5000 we can complete all the works we need to make the course safer and more accessible.
