13th July 2016Plans, discussions and birds
Hello ladies and gentlemen,
We've been busy working away trying to get our community shares sorted with the Plunkett Foundation but there's been a lot more going on too!
Last weekend we hosted the lovely folks from the SE London CAMRA branch as they toasted the pub. It's so fantastic to see this kind of support coming in. The trip was also covered in the EDP too and we've since been featured on Radio Norfolk.
This traction makes all the difference and we've can see the crowdfunding numbers just shoot up.
We've been talking with a number of excited investors so the team and support just keeps growing.

Speaking of support, we met with the RSPB who own much of the land surrounding the Berney Arms. We spoke about joint efforts to promote the area and we're really keen to host birdwatchers at the pub.
Not only would this be a great way to bring in more visitors but it's an important part of our plan for making the pub profitable. In previous years it's only been open in the summer months to capture the passing trade but we're keen to open it in the winter to serve people visiting for the bird spectacles that happen on the Broads.
We also took a look around Berney Mill, there are some beautiful views from the top. I definitely recommend visiting, if you can get to an opening.
