I am truly passionate that education should be a right for all of us. Irrespective of culture, geography, religion, wealth, or privilege.
I am truly passionate that education should be a right for all of us. Irrespective of culture, geography, religion, wealth or privilege.
I am not quite sure why I have this passion; perhaps it is because I was never the 'model student‘ or perhaps it is because I have been fortunate enough to work for educational organisations travelling the world seeing just how impactful education can be. But, whatever the source, this passion runs deep in me.
Education is one of the most powerful ways to help people, countries and continents out of poverty and into prosperity, in whatever form that may take. Learning is a lifelong journey, and with focus, dedication, determination and ambition we can all make a difference in some small way.
Having been to Sri Lanka and seen first-hand some of the exceptional work around education that The Dust Project does, and given my close personal connection to the Charity, I have decided to combine my passion for education and the world of triathlon to raise some much-needed money to support the amazing work they are doing. So, if like me, you share a passion for improving the lives of those much less fortunate than ourselves, through access to education, please donate.
Donations of any size are welcome! But rest assured, whatever you can afford will be hugely appreciated and most importantly put to great use improving the lives and providing opportunities to these children that deserve a chance to educate themselves out of poverty.
Every penny that you donate will go directly to supporting the great work that The Dust Project does. Whilst your donations will be used for a larger scale education project, the list below provides examples of how valuable each donation truly is:
£5 = A water bottle or lunchbox for a child
£10 = A story book / novel / non-fiction resource for the school library
£15 = A pack of educational supplies for a student for a year
£20 = One term's textbooks for a student in school
£25 = A whiteboard for the classroom
£30 = The cost of sending a child to school for a month
£50 = Two full uniforms, sports kit, and school shoes for a child in school
£75 = A teacher's salary for a month in The Dust Project's Partner School
£100 = Nutritious breaktime meals each day for a student for two months
