Aim

We aim to fund the planting of native wildflowers, establishing a wildflower corridor along the roadside at Cossington Park in Leicester.

Belgrave Community Garden Project are excited to announce a crowdfunding campaign for the new growing season.
Our volunteer led community garden is on a mission to bring more biodiversity to our area. We'd love to add thousands of native wildflowers, including wild red clover, primroses, self heal, birdsfoot trefoil, yellow rattle, bluebells and snowdrops in between the trees next to our patch, creating a wildflower corridor between our local library and neighbourhood centre.

ABOUT US:

We're based in Belgrave at Cossington Park in Leicester. We're an enthusiastic team of community volunteers with a passion for learning and growing. We began our dream in 2022, growing tomatoes and coriander on a small patch of disused land behind our local library. We've grown quite a bit since then, now we have an array of produce including pak choi, borlotti beans, kale and sweetcorn, as well as our mighty sunflowers! We have weekly meet ups, where we come together to chat, garden and enjoy being outdoors, everyone is welcome.

OUR GOAL:

Is to engage with the local community by giving them the opportunity to bring nature to the inner city. Cossington Park is the perfect place to add a wildlife corridor, which in turn would provide food and shelter to numerous species. By adding these beautiful wildflowers, we would help boost biodiversity in the local area, and give passers-by the chance to observe, enjoy, and reconnect with nature.
We want to help the community spend quality time outside, creating a space where we can all grow and thrive together. We hope to help make new friendships as well as teach new skills, and most importantly help improve mental and physical wellbeing.
