Aim

We plan to develop a spectator viewing area for improved access for non playing members and supporters to participate in club activities.

Our Vision for Belcoo GAA

Belcoo GAA has always been more than just a sports club, it is the beating heart of our community.  It’s where friendships are forged, values are instilled, and memories are made.  In 2023, the community came together to co-design a development plan for the club and since then we have been embarking on a transformative journey to elevate our facilities and ensure that Belcoo GAA continues to thrive for generations to come.

Our ambitious phased development plan includes:

  • New dressing rooms to support our growing teams; under construction.
  • A community walkway to promote health and wellbeing; completed.
  • A community gym to empower all ages to stay active; completed.
  • And now, a spectator terrace, a vital addition that will bring our supporters and non playing members closer to the action in a safe, accessible space.

We are delighted to partner with Sport Northern Irelands Olympic Legacy Fund to bring this project to live. The Sport NI Olympic Legacy Fund is committed to improving the quality of facilities and encouraging participation in physical activities throughout communities in Northern Ireland. If we, as a community, can reach our target, Sport NI Olympic Legacy Fund will contribute £32,500 towards our development.

Why a Spectator Viewing Area Matters

For years, our loyal supporters have stood on the sidelines cheering on our players with unwavering passion. The current provision on sloped gravel terrain is not fit for purpose.

The new spectator terrace will:

  • Provide safe, comfortable viewing for all ages.
  • Create a welcoming space for families, friends, and visitors.
  • Foster a stronger sense of community and pride in our club.

This viewing area will provide a concrete stepped terrace with support railings.  The uncovered terrace will provide level access from approaching areas supporting those with accessible needs.

This isn’t just about bricks and mortar, it’s about building a legacy of support, inclusion, and celebration. We recognise the needs of our wider community and want to ensure our club is accessible to all.

How You Can Help

To make this vision a reality, we need to raise £50,000. Every contribution, big or small, will bring us one step closer to completing this vital piece of our development.

Here’s how you can support...

  • Make a donation to our crowd funding page. Big or Small, every penny helps! Our strength is in our joint efforts!
  • Spread the word, share our story with friends, family, and former club members near and far.
  • Get involved with our community rewards! Our community are fully behind this and we have commitment for many community rewards to thank our our supporters. If you think you can offer a community reward we haven't thought of, please get in touch!

How We’ll Spend the Money Raised

We’re committed to being transparent about how every pound will be used. The £50,000 we aim to raise will go directly toward the construction of a safe, accessible and welcoming spectator terrace at Belcoo GAA.

Here’s a breakdown of how your support will be invested:

  • £30,000 - Construction materials and labour for the terrace structure
  • £10,000 - Groundworks and accessibility improvements
  • £5,000 -  Safety features including railings, steps, and lighting
  • £5,000 - Planning, design, and contingency costs

This terrace is a key part of our wider development plan, which also includes new dressing rooms, a community gym, and a walking track,  all designed to make Belcoo GAA a hub for sport, health, and connection.

Community Impact

Belcoo GAA is more than a pitch — it’s a place where our community comes together.

Our facilities are used by:

  • Our local school for sports days activities
  • Sports events such as Gravel Grinder, Borderlands Cycle
  • Training facilities and gathering point for community rescue teams such as Mountain Rescue
  • Community groups for fitness and wellbeing activities
  • Families and individuals who walk, train, and gather here daily
  • Volunteers and coaches who give their time to support youth development

The new spectator terrace will make our grounds more inclusive and welcoming, especially for older supporters, parents with young children, and those with mobility needs. It will also enhance the experience for visiting teams and supporters, helping us host larger events and build stronger community ties.

This project is about a spectator terrace, and so much more! It’s about creating a space where our community can gather, celebrate, and support one another. It’s about honouring the past, embracing the present, and investing in the future of our youth through Belcoo GAA.

Let’s stand together (just as we always have), with the support of Sport NI Olympic Legacy Fund and build something truly special.

Join us. Support us. Believe in Belcoo.
