Aim
To raise £2000 which will go on my Arts Council Funding application, which means they can match fund the rest of the budget :)
In 2018 I decided to take the leap and begin creating my own full length piece of work as a solo artist. I was feeling an increasing urgency to say things about the world that I wasn’t hearing in mainstream media, and it was out of this frustration and passion that ‘BEDHEAD’ was born.
Having been writing in my spare time for the past year, with some highly successful sharings of the work along the way, I’m now at a stage in which I’m ready to work with a creative team to realise the full scale production. The most accessible way I can describe ’BEDHEAD’ is Fleabag meets Gimme, Gimme Gimme meets Mary Poppins, and a one night stand with Beyonce.
I’m excited about using comedy to depict a very real, candid, funny and honest portrayal of the diverse female existence.
The show takes place in and around a double bed. Why? Because it’s the centre of my universe. Arguably it’s the centre of everyone’s universe.
When applying for funding you have to have a small percentage of the money already and then the Arts Council 'match fund' the rest. So this is what I'm looking to raise. Any help would be immensely appreciated and such a huge help.
