£26,000 Lewisham Arts Festival Fund provided £2,700 of match funding
Our mission is to bring together our community and celebrate the magic of cinema through a day-long free film festival for the whole family.
Building on the success of last year's event, the Bromley Family Film Club is delighted to announce our second free film festival for local children and families. This will be a one-day celebration of our community and all things cinematic including animation workshops with a world renowned animator, a live size Zoetrope, arts & crafts activities, storytelling and a fantastic line-up of films.

Inclusivity and diversity will be key and our programme of films and events will reflect the community that we live in as well as take inspiration from our immediate surroundings. Our venue for the day is the fabulous Grade II listed mansion in Beckenham Place Park. This impressive Georgian building on the Bromley/Lewisham border is part of an ambitious regeneration project by Lewisham Council and stands in a beautiful landscape of meadows and woodland. Now open to the public it provides a space for locals to come together to share in fun, engaging activities with family and friends.

What we'll deliver:

Who will make it happen?
Our Family Film Club has been running since 2015 and we organised our inaugural Film Festival last year to great success. We are again partnering with South East London’s ‘Free Film Festivals’ who have ample experience and will provide logistical support to ensure the smooth running of the event. Beckenham Place Park Mansion is fully supporting our event and providing in kind contributions.

Why it's a great idea:
There are limited opportunities for children and young people with additional needs to engage with the arts in the Bromley/ Lewisham area. Our club was set up in 2015 to create a safe and relaxed space for children and young people to enjoy a cinema experience together with their families and friends.
With this festival we want to share our passion for cinema with children and young people from across the borough and bring people together to enjoy great movies and celebrate their local area.
Our choice of films will speak to families from all backgrounds and nationalities and provide a perfect introduction to our programme this coming year. By incorporating workshops, short films, silent films, feature films and carefully curated events we will create a fun and unique experience to suit all ages and abilities.

What do we need funding for?
We need funding to make this event happen and we rely on local sponsorship and on this crowdfunding initiative to make it a success. You, the residents, our lovely local businesses, friends and family are key ingredients to help ensure we can do this! So what do we need funding for and how will we spend it?
