To provide a community response coordination to help health and wellbeing in our community and supporting young people's access to education
Beach Guardian has been making a real difference to the people in our community in many ways over recent years:
- Organising community beach cleans
- Hosting volunteering sessions
- Creating art out or marine plastics found on our local beaches
- Being a champion for young people
- Enabling ways to reduce social isolation with our community events
- Facilitating improvements to health and wellbeing by improving our environment, helping people come together and experience quality, meaningful time outdoors
- Providing online support through videos and social media
But, to overcome the effects of the pandemic in our community, we need to do more. We will relieve pressure on local statutory services by providing social prescribing opportunities to people. We will equip individual volunteers with training and support, as well as equipment, to help to clean up their local areas of litter and PPE pollution
We have seen an increased demand on our services and need financial support to ensure that we can increase our services
The National Emergencies Trust will match, pound for pound, ANY donation we receive up to £250. So, if you can donate a £1 it will be matched by £1. If you can donate £25 it will be matched by £25 and so on
Any donation you can make will help us by providing drop in sessions during the week enabling us to provide support to vulnerable people, University students, volunteers and school groups in our community who wish to get involved in supporting Beach Guardian
The National Emergencies Trust has provided £3,414 of match funding
