On the 25th August 2023 we'd raised £19,794 with 38 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We would be able to distribute resources to schools.
The Beach Guardian team has been working extremely hard to produce BRAND NEW and EXCLUSIVE educational resources and they want YOU to be involved in their new initiative: 'The Beach Guardian Club'. By supporting and joining the club, you’ll receive exclusive, regular and personal content from the team and a Beach Cleaning Log Book. If you join with our Gold Membership, you’ll also be able to take part in our incredible new beach cleaning challenge…you won’t want to miss out on the rewards for this!
In 2019, hundreds of you joined our beach cleaning challenge, where you received and completed your very own Beach Cleaning Passport.
Since then, we’ve been brainstorming how to make this even bigger, even better and with even more rewards…
For 2024, we also want to increase our education resources and provide a ‘membership’ subscription for our Beach Guardian Club.
By joining the club, not only will you be supporting our day to day operations and outreach, but also you will receive the following resources from Beach Guardian co-founder herself, Emily:
Standard Annual Membership: This is normally £3 per month, £36 for 12 months. But with our match funding you only need to pledge £12 and Save Our Wild Isles will match the other £24!
- Beach cleaning log book
- Receive a birthday card with message from Beach Guardian team
- Receive a Christmas card from Beach Guardian team
- Receive an exclusive monthly update which will not be available on social media
Gold Annual Membership: This is normally £4 per month, £48 for 12 months. But with our match funding you only need to pledge £16 and Save Our Wild Isles will match the other £32!
- EXCLUSIVE - Beach Guardian Club challenge handbook and rewards!
- Beach cleaning log book
- Receive a birthday card with message from Beach Guardian team
- Receive a Christmas card from Beach Guardian team
- Receive an exclusive monthly update which will not be available on social media
You can sign up for membership for yourself, or gift it to a loved one.
Whilst the membership sign up will be available at any time from 2024 onwards, by pledging now, the “Save Our Wild Isles Community Fund” will match all pledges received!
Please see our range of rewards which are available if you support this campaign.
About Beach Guardian
Beach Guardian aims to ‘engage, educate and empower against plastic pollution’ and achieves this by working towards 6 key objectives:
- Education - Beach Guardian S.E.A.L. Workshops (School Education Activities Link) are available for both primary and secondary schools, colleges, sixth forms, universities and any educational institute.
- Outreach - Beach Guardian has provided tens of thousands of hours of volunteering opportunities, including beach cleaning, community group presentations, re-wilding and social prescribing initiatives.
- Business - Beach Guardian offers a consulting service to organisations and corporations of all sizes, to help find alternatives to unsustainable materials and reduce reliance on single use plastics. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives are also offered.
- Healthcare - Beach Guardian is working closely with the NHS and local GP practices to offer social prescribing initiatives to vulnerable people who are suffering with mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, loneliness and addiction.
- Policy - Beach Guardian aims to engage with and offer collaboration opportunities with local authorities and politicians, to ensure legislation change which supports the movement away from unsustainable practices and materials.
- Research - Beach Guardian co-founder Emily has recently started a PhD investigating the impacts of Microplastics on human health.
