A few years back I became quite ill and was unable to get out of bed (Un-diagnosed hyperthyroidism, now I have an excuse for being a marshmallow!) During that time I decided it was the perfect opportunity to work on a children's book (something I'd wanted to do for a long time) Due to feeling ill, my creativity wasn't at its best. My daughter, Isabella (then 6 years old) took pity on me and decided to help me create a story...

COLIN THE MONSTER WAS BORN!

I can't even begin to try and explain the feeling of creating a book with my daughter. In only a matter of 4 months or so, we went from having the idea in our head to creating the book, getting the book published and having an official book launch event with hundreds of people in attendance at The Stand Comedy Club!

In the few years that have followed, I have been lucky enough to travel to many, many schools taking part in assemblies, workshops and even opening new school libraries! During this time, 'Colin the Monster' has also been a success for us and has led to many opportunities that I could never have imagined.

This summer I was meant to be a part of a very big project but due to the pandemic that is ongoing, I (like so many others) have had my project postponed. 

During this time however, I began to run live on-line art classes for kids which are streamed every Monday and Thursday morning on my FACEBOOK page.

Once again, I have been extremely lucky enough to build up an on-line community of some absolutely amazing people. Every lesson, hundreds of children continue to take part and it is an complete joy to see their finished artworks. I've also been able to personally see the progress the children who take part have made in their drawing skills. This has been so, so rewarding.

When 'Colin the Monster' was released, I had many, many parents tell me they would love to be able to create something similar with their own children.

Looking on-line, services similar for getting your child's work as part of an illustrated picture range from several hundred pound for a template based book with the same story-line and simply your child's drawing imposed in to the book, to multiple thousands of pounds for an original book.

Services like that don't seem to me to be plausible for the majority of people, and also I feel lack character.

I would love for your child's drawing to be part of our 'Colin the Monster' Christmas book.

This winter, we are releasing 'Colin Saves Christmas' 

Our hero, Colin, must find a way to help Santa after the jolly big fellow crashes his sleigh next to Colin's house. 

How, or even will, Colin manage to do this? 

Well I'm afraid you'll have to wait until winter to find that out!
