Our very own Jonathan ‘Baz’ Cardoza is taking on his toughest gig yet - trying to complete the London Marathon for the Development Fund.

by FC United's Development Fund in Manchester, England, United Kingdom

Baz, host of Course You Can Malcolm, is aiming to complete the 2025 London Marathon on Sunday 27th April in aid of the Development Fund and he needs your donations!

Baz admits he's never really been a runner, but he's willing to take one for the team in order to raise much-needed money for our club.

He said: "I did a bit of running here and there before 2020, but since then, it's only occasionally to platform 13/14 in Piccadilly."

He has high hopes that any money you help him raise will be wisely spent by the club. He said: "Baxter (aka George Baker) said the money he raised running the marathon was used to build the toilets next to the Lightbowne Road End. They're affectionately called Baxter's Bogs, although only by himself.

"I'd like to think anything I'd fundraise would go towards constructing the curve connecting the SMRE with the Main Stand. Could you imagine the ribbon-cutting ceremony?

"The divide between the SMRE Jesters and the Main Stand Blanket Army would finally be bridged. It'd be like the Berlin Wall coming down all over again!"

All donations big and small for Baz's 26.2-mile challenge will be very gratefully received. Please note: there's no guarantee the money will be spent on Baz's curve, but we're sure it'll be put to good use.
