In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the club are looking to raise funds to ensure the security of the club for years to come! #UpTheBaw

Why are we using Crowdfunder?

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the club are looking to raise funds to ensure the security of the club for years to come! We have worked hard to try and create new opportunities for not just the club but the whole community to showcase everything great about Bawtry.

What's happening down at the club this season?

There are a number of exciting ventures for #TheBaw this season, with the 1st XI operating at their highest ever level in the Bassetlaw & District Championship, the 2nd XI looking for promotion out of Division 4, and the blossoming of our Women & Girls side, who will hopefully be able to play competitive cricket this season. As well as this, we have out Sunday XI where we will continue to develop younger players ready for senior cricket, as well as our T20 side who performed amazingly last year, narrowly losing out to a strong Championship side (back when we were in Division 1). A key priority for us as a club is the continued growth and development of our junior section, as we look to provide All Stars and Dynamos cricket alongside our current junior sides.

If current restrictions allow, we will also be looking to run a number of social cricketing events where we will be aiming to raise money for Papyrus, a charity close to the club's heart who exist to reduce the number of young people who take their own lives by shattering the stigma around suicide and equipping young people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to suicidal behaviour.

Our big projects-

This season sees a huge step up for the club, with the 1sts entering the pinnacle of our district's cricket pyramid, the 2s looking to gain promotion, the T20 looking to go one better and secure the John J. Mallen Trophy, the Women & Girls side playing competitive fixtures... the cricket action is relentless. It does, however, mean that as always these things come at a cost. With the COVID-19 restrictions last season, we were unable to put on any club fundraisers, we reduced player subscriptions to aid in times of hardship for many and we also were unable to have any spectators to increase profits behind the bar. This project will help with financial security of the club for many years to allow the people of Bawtry to support a successful and progressive cricket club.

Another of our ventures is that after taking over the role of ground maintenance down at the club, it was clear that our old equipment was no longer up to scratch to create the best environment possible for our players. Off the back of this, at great expense, the club has managed to acquire everything we need, but at a hit to our bank balance. Crowd funding venture will ensure the financial security long term of the club.1613738152_roller.jpg

We also hope to make improvements to our nets to allow us to use them more throughout the year, and reduce out need to rely on other clubs/schools for our training needs.
