To raise funds to replace our pitch roller; create a new grass pitch & additional practice pitches; and provide patio tables for spectators
The club's aim is to encourage greater participation in cricket and other sports and to support our members and the local community from both a physical and social perspective. We are proud to deliver a welcoming, inclusive and fun atmosphere in which to take part in cricket and social activities.
The club is run entirely by volunteers, including the management committee, coaches, ground staff and many others who give their time freely. We have been Clubmark accredited since 2014, recognising us as a safe, child friendly club.
We have estimated that Covid-19 has lost the club a net income of around £15,000 in 2020 as most of our income is generated through matchday activity, the bar, social events and club hires, all of which have been significantly reduced or cancelled.
This is money that would have been used to fund club development and therefore we are reaching out to members, their families and friends and the wider community to help us complete the following projects that the club had planned:

These projects will help our players to develop their skills and provide spectators with a seating area from which to enjoy watching the cricket.
We host several annual community events, including the Bonfire and Fireworks Display, Beer Festival and Club & Pub T20 Knockout Tournament which all attract visitors from the village and wider local area.

Our clubhouse and ground are hired for private parties, business meetings and social events. Sadly, all these annual events had to be cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19, as well as 17 private bookings.

As a host club for the ECB Last Man Stands initiative, we host up to 40 'social' matches per season, a local amateur radio club are based at the club and a mixed rounders team enjoy the use of our pitch and the social side of the club.
We regret having to cancel events booked in the clubhouse and let's all hope by next season we are back to normality and can provide improved cricket and social facilities for all our members, and are able to welcome more people from the community to enjoy our facilities.
As a volunteer-run club, we need to generate donations from members, families, friends and the wider community to help us cover the lost income in 2020 and complete these projects that are important to the development of the club.
Please donate however much you feel comfortable with; we are well aware that individuals and businesses have also been hit hard financially by the impact of COVID-19 and everyone’s individual wellbeing is the priority. However, if you can spare any money to donate, large or small, we would really appreciate the support.............
.........and don't forget to share with your family and friends.
