Walk2Waddow to help save Girl Guiding and Garnett Family Heritage!!!
In May 2023 Girlguiding announced it’s intention to close and sell it’s 5 training and activity centres including Waddow Hall in Clitheroe.
This will be a great loss to the many 1000s of people across the country and beyond who use the centre each year for meetings, activity days, residential events, themed activities, children’s parties, family breaks and large community events.
As members of Girl Guiding within East Lancashire County, Waddow Hall was a central part of both Gill and Jenni’s guiding journey with Jenni making her Guide Promise in the grounds. Although both have moved out of East Lancashire County, Waddow Hall is still very dear to both.
So we’re walking 75 miles from Wirral to Waddow Hall to raise funds towards the Waddow Hall Trust achieving their goal of retaining and investing in this amazing venue to continue to offer outdoors experiences to children and adults alike for generations to come.
Our walk will take us through six Girl Guiding counties and through some of the best walking that the North West has to offer.
