Aim
Basildon Mini Pride, in collaboration with local partners aims to give the LGBT community and allies a chance to celebrate diversity.
Being LGBT can be difficult and for many years the community has worked to bring inclusion and equality for those who identify as LGBT. Things have come a long way. However there are always those who would like to move things backwards. Sadly this is what we have experienced in Basildon lately. Working in collaboration with Basildon Council and Essex Pride as well as many other partners we are hastily putting on our first ever Basildon Pride to peacefully show that we in Basildon respect diversity and embrace the LGBT community as part of our society. The event will include a small March of solidarity through Basildon Town Centre follow by an afternoon of celebration at Colors Nightclub. We need to raise a small amount to pay for the heavily subsidised buffet, staff costs and also travel expenses for our entertainers.
