What is Basically Cheer CIC?

My name is Lianne & alongside my 2 fellow directors Amy & Sarah we have set up a new not for profit community interest company ‘Basically Cheer CIC’ to run alongside our established dance & fitness club ‘Basically Cheer & Fitness’. We are currently based on Plumbe Street, Burnley, where we have been fortunate enough to rent space from Basics Junior Theatre School from for almost 10 years to deliver dance & fitness classes to the community, as well as running our outreach programme from Cliviger Village Hall & working in community centres. The time has come to expand & grow so we can provide more opportunities & give back to our amazing community 💖💜

Why are we fundraising?

We have recently found a potential new venue which is the former Parkside Methodist Church on Cog Lane that would be the perfect base to call ‘home’ 🏠 A safe space where we can provide enriching activities & promote health & wellbeing. Below is an image of one of the many rooms we will transform into a thriving studio.

This expansive new venue means that we will be able to provide an action packed timetable of daytime & evening activities for everyone to enjoy including:

• Dance classes 
• Coffee mornings 
• Playgroups 
• Fitness classes 
• SEN specific sessions for children & adults 
• Seated exercise 
• Holiday clubs 
• Community events & more (our ideas are off the scale EXCITING) 🤩 & of course we cant wait to hear what ideas you guys come up with to!

How will we use the funds we receive?

We are starting from scratch with this new premises so we have set this initial target of £1500 to help get our project off the ground & start with initial pre-start costs like solicitors fees.

If we are fortunate enough to exceed this target & get any match-funding opportunities this will be used to help us get our venue up & running:

• Decorating & maintenance
• Furniture
• New equipment
• Marketing
• Insurance & licence fees
• Studio flooring & mirrors

As you can imagine the costs to take on a project of this size is extremely significant & we want to make sure that we can really hit the ground running & get started as soon as possible which is why we are asking for the help of our community & potential funders 🥰
