Raising funds to extend our Clubhouse function room, providing more space for a extended programme of activities. Keeping Bedale active
Bedale Sports & Community Centre is the only multi-purpose sports facility in Bedale. It is run solely by dedicated volunteers and is currently the home of 6 sports clubs:

We are trying to raise £65,000 to extend the main function room of our clubhouse by 50% to accommodate further activities which have been requested by our local community. These include mini junior tennis, Bocca, carpet bowls, yoga, Buggyfit (exercise for new Mum's) and Pilates.

We will also expand our outdoor activities including football for women, a team for the over 40s and a walking football team. The extension will provide space for these new groups to hold team meetings, training for coaches and an important social space for socialising post matches/training.

The Covid 19 pandemic has really impacted on our club, it halted the play of all our sports. This had a really negative affect on our community with people unable to take part in the sports they enjoy and maintain their fitness. With no bar takings and social events our income to cover the overheads hit rock bottom.
Whilst we did get some support from the government we were unable to hold fundraising events to raise money beyond our running costs. Despite this we have still managed to raise in excess of £38,000 from grants and trust funds.
We have seen over the past 6 months a surge in people wanting to come back together to play sports and socialise, however this is coupled with a nervousness about the pandemic. This project will provide us with the space we need for people to feel safe and help us create a brilliant programme of new activities! With your help we can make this project happen.
