The club has recently expanded and now needs more and better floodlit space to enable everyone to train safely at the club more regularly.

The more money we can generate, the more additional lights we can install. Simple - more money to brighten the sky! As the club is growing the more lighting we have on the pitches the more people we can get active and keep active.
We aim to light up the rugby areas down at Holland Park Sports and Social Club to ensure more people can be more active, more often, whilst training in smaller groups during the Covid Pandemic.
Currently just two very small low level floodlights provide light at night for training to a club which has grown to circa 200 children, has a thriving senior men's section, a just established new ladies section.
To help engage with more people in the current climate an adult and junior touch rugby programme has also been started that needs further floodlit space to develop.
The limited and old/deteriorating floodlit area currently available means that certain groups can't train on site or are limited with their growth plans due to a lack of availability of light. It also leads to pitch maintenance problems with all users in just one a small area! By increasing the areas floodlit, this will enable the club to also rotate use, protecting the grass surface and preventing cancellations of games!
This links to the goal to provide more playing and active health/fitness opportunities through exercise that we can provide for people to train together after the restrictions in place will help reinvigorate people, help with people's mental health and wellbeing and support the development of social skills and interaction within the club and wider community.
The aim is to provide much better training lights through this crowdfunding scheme so that people can train safely on site with better facilities. But alongside this can be in their local environment supporting the club which has been hit hard through a lack of income over the past 12 months. By enabling people to use the club for all midweek and evening training it will also ensure sustainability of the overall sports club and establish a community focus with people being able to integrate in their local area.
The long term vision will also be to floodlight the main pitch and other training areas, but this will give us much needed lighting in the short term to cater for the demands from the clubs membership and wider community.
