Barrwood Scout Campsite: fresh water project.

Aim: To provide a consistent supply of fresh drinking water at the Barrwood Scout Campsite in central Scotland.

For a number of years the fresh water supply to our scout campsite has been inconsistent. To solve this problem we are drilling for fresh drinking water.

We have already spent £18k on the initial stage to establish that a fresh water supply is both available and viable. We need to spend a further £5k to establish the infrastructure and an additional £46k for the firm to complete the project. As our campsite is off grid much of the expenditure is on solar panels and batteries to power the pump which delivers the water to the system. The £51k to complete the project represents our entire reserves. We are therefore looking for contributions to the Barrwood Scout Campsite, Water Project to allow us to continue to offer the range of services which are enjoyed by over 8,000 users a year.
