Barns Green Sports Clubs Changing Rooms Renovation

A huge thank you to Barns Green Christmas Tree Festival and all of the volunteers who worked so hard to make this event happen. We are extremely grateful for their donation of £2,000 to the changing room fund. You can read more about the event and all of the other donations to good causes in the May edition of the Big Mag.

Time for an update on where we are with the project. Although you may not have heard from us for a while we have all been working hard behind the scenes. Writing grant applications, attending meetings, liaising with contractors, talking to key organisations with an interest in the project, writing tender reports, the list goes on. 

We hope we are now on the last leg before we can start works, but we still have to satisfy all of the conditions set for the funding we have been awarded in principle before it can be released. We have to demonstrate that we have a fully funded project before works can start, otherwise the project won't be eligible for the grant funding.

We currently have £24k in secured funding which includes the donations made through Crowdfunder and a further £60k of in principle grant funding agreed (subject to satisfying the final conditions). You can still donate through Crowdfunder if you would like to support the project. The next fundraising event is the Si Viney Rugby 7's Tag Tournament where part of the money raised will benefit the changing rooms project. The tournament takes place on 18 May on the village green, we hope to see you there.
