Aim: We are raising money for a new barista training academy for people experiencing homelessness.
My name is Richard and I am the co founder of Old Spike Roastery - the UKs first social enterprise, specialty coffee roaster helping the homeless.
We are based in South London and have spent the last 7 years providing people experiencing homelessness the opportunity to get back in to society through a speciality coffee barista training programme. We have ambitious goals entering into 2023 and need your help to reach our target of supporting 250 people experiencing homelessness get back into work!
In December, we are moving to a new site to help us manage the increase in individuals we can help and as part of that, we need to build a brand new training academy. This is where our team will teach trainees everything there is to know about being a barista and support them with CV development, work place readiness and housing where applicable.
The money raised will go towards fitting out our barista training room with coffee machines, grinders, a small kitchen, dishwasher and training equipment so they have everything they need to learn about coffee. With this support, we will be providing the best opportunity to succeed into onwards employment.
